A Song [or] Psalm for the sons of Korah, to the chief Musician upon Mahalath Leannoth, Maschil of Heman the Ezrahite. O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day [and] night before thee:
O HERE God van my heil, ek het dag en nag voor U geroep:
2
Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;
Laat my gebed voor U kom: neig u oor tot my geroep;
3
For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.
Want my siel is vol van benoudhede: en my lewe nader die graf.
4
I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man [that hath] no strength:
Ek word gereken met dié wat afdaal in die put: ek is soos ’n man wat geen sterkte het nie:
5
Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.
Vry onder die dooies, soos die dooies wat in die graf lê, wat U nie meer onthou nie: en hulle is van u hand afgesny.

Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.
U het my in die laagste put gelê, in duisternis, in die dieptes.
7
Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted [me] with all thy waves. Selah.
U toorn lê swaar op my, en U het my met al u golwe geteister. Sela.

Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: [I am] shut up, and I cannot come forth.
U het my bekendes ver van my af verwyder; U het my ‚'n gruwel vir hulle gemaak: ek is toegesluit, en ek kan nie uitkom nie.

Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.
My oog treur vanweë benoudheid: HERE, ek het daagliks tot U geroep, ek het my hande tot U uitgestrek.

Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise [and] praise thee? Selah.
Sal U wonders aan die dooies toon? sal die dooies opstaan en U prys? Sela.
11
Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? [or] thy faithfulness in destruction?
Sal u liefde in die graf verkondig word? of u getrouheid in die vernietiging?
12
Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
Sal u wonders in die donker bekend word? en u geregtigheid in die land van vergeetagtigheid?
13
But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.
Maar tot U het ek, o HERE, geroep; en in die môre sal my gebed U voorkom.

LORD, why castest thou off my soul? [why] hidest thou thy face from me?
HERE, waarom verwerp U my siel? waarom verberg U u aangesig van my?
15
I [am] afflicted and ready to die from [my] youth up: [while] I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.
Ek is benoud en gereed om te sterwe van my jeug af: terwyl ek u verskrikkinge ly, is ek afgelei.
16
Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.
U felle toorn gaan oor my; u verskrikkinge het my afgesny.
17
They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together.
Hulle het daagliks soos water om my gekom; hulle het my saam omsingel.
18
Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, [and] mine acquaintance into darkness.
Liefhebber en vriend het U ver van my af verwyder, en my bekendes in duisternis.
