For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
Want kyk, u vyande maak ’n geraas: en dié wat U haat, het hulle hoofde opgehef.

They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
Hulle het listige raad teen u volk geneem, en geraadpleeg teen u verborgenes.

They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from [being] a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
Hulle het gesê, Kom, en laat ons hulle as ’n nasie uitroei: dat die naam van Israel nie meer in herinnering mag wees nie.

For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
Want hulle het van harte saamgeraadpleeg: hulle is in ‚'n verbond teen U.

The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
Die tente van Edom, en die Ismaeliete; van Moab, en die Hagareners;

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Gebal, en Ammon, en Amalek; die Filistyne met die inwoners van Tirus;

Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
Assur is ook by hulle aangesluit: hulle het die kinders van Lot gehelp. Sela.

Do unto them as [unto] the Midianites; as [to] Sisera, as [to] Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
Doen aan hulle soos aan die Midianiete; soos aan Sísera, soos aan Jabin, by die spruit Kison:

[Which] perished at Endor: they became [as] dung for the earth.
Wat by Éndor vernietig is: hulle is mis vir die aarde geword.

Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
Maak hulle edeles soos Oreb, en soos Seëb: ja, al hulle vorstes soos Sebag, en soos Salmunna:

Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
Wat gesê het, Laat ons die huise van God in besit neem.

O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
O my God, maak hulle soos ‚'n wiel; soos die kaf voor die wind.

As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
Soos die vuur die woud verbrand, en soos die vlam die berge aan die brand steek;
15
So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
So vervolg hulle met u storm, en verskrik hulle met u stormwind.

Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
Vul hulle aangesigte met skaamte; dat hulle u Naam, o HERE, mag soek.

Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
Laat hulle vir ewig beskaamd en ontsteld wees: ja, laat hulle tot skande gebring word, en vergaan:
18
That [men] may know that thou, whose name alone [is] JEHOVAH, [art] the most high over all the earth.
Dat die mense mag weet dat U, wie se Naam alleen HERE is, die Allerhoogste is oor die hele aarde.
