Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
Bewaar my, o God: want in U stel ek my vertroue.
2
[O my soul], thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou [art] my Lord: my goodness [extendeth] not to thee;
O my siel, jy het tot die HERE gesê, U is my Here: my goedheid strek nie tot U nie;
3
[But] to the saints that [are] in the earth, and [to] the excellent, in whom [is] all my delight.
Maar tot die heiliges wat op die aarde is, en tot die uitnemendes, in wie is al my behae.
4
Their sorrows shall be multiplied [that] hasten [after] another [god]: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
Hulle smarte sal vermeerder word wat ‚'n ander god najaag: hulle drankoffers van bloed sal ek nie offer nie, en hulle name op my lippe neem nie.

The LORD [is] the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
Die HERE is die deel van my erfenis en van my beker: U onderhou my lot.

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant [places]; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
Die lyne is vir my in aangename plekke geval; ja, ek het ‚'n goeie erfenis.

I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
Ek sal die HERE seën, wat my raad gegee het: my niere onderrig my ook in die nagseisoene.
8
I have set the LORD always before me: because [he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Ek het die HERE altyd voor my gestel: omdat Hy aan my regterhand is, sal ek nie beweeg word nie.
9
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
Daarom is my hart vrolik, en my heerlikheid juig: my vlees sal ook in hoop rus.
10
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Want U sal my siel nie in die doderyk laat nie; en U sal nie toelaat dat u Heilige die verderf sien nie.
11
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence [is] fulness of joy; at thy right hand [there are] pleasures for evermore.
U sal my die pad van die lewe bekend maak: in u teenwoordigheid is volheid van vreugde; by u regterhand is behae vir ewig.
