Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Seën die HERE, o my siel, en vergeet nie al sy weldade nie:
3
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Wat al jou ongeregtighede vergewe; wat al jou siektes genees;
4
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Wat jou lewe van die verderf verlos; wat jou kroon met liefde en tedere barmhartighede;
5
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good [things; so that] thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Wat jou mond met goeie dinge versadig; sodat jou jeug vernuwe word soos die arend.
6
The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
Die HERE voer geregtigheid en oordeel uit vir almal wat verdruk word.
7
He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
Hy het sy weë aan Moses bekend gemaak, sy dade aan die kinders van Israel.
8
The LORD [is] merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Die HERE is barmhartig en genadig, lankmoedig, en oorvloedig in barmhartigheid.
9
He will not always chide: neither will he keep [his anger] for ever.
Hy sal nie altyd twis nie: en Hy sal nie vir ewig toornig bly nie.
10
He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
Hy het nie met ons gehandel volgens ons sondes nie; en ons nie volgens ons ongeregtighede vergoed nie.
11
For as the heaven is high above the earth, [so] great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
Want soos die hemel hoog is bo die aarde, so groot is sy barmhartigheid teenoor dié wat Hom vrees.
12
As far as the east is from the west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
So ver as die ooste is van die weste, so ver het Hy ons oortredings van ons verwyder.
13
Like as a father pitieth [his] children, [so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
Soos ’n vader medelye met sy kinders het, so het die HERE medelye met dié wat Hom vrees.
14
For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we [are] dust.
Want Hy ken ons gestalte; Hy onthou dat ons stof is.
15
[As for] man, his days [are] as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
Wat die mens betref, sy dae is soos gras: soos ’n blom van die veld, so floreer hy.
16
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
Want die wind gaan daaroor, en dit is weg; en die plek daarvan ken dit nie meer nie.
17
But the mercy of the LORD [is] from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
Maar die barmhartigheid van die HERE is van ewigheid tot ewigheid op dié wat Hom vrees, en sy geregtigheid tot kinders se kinders;
18
To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
Aan sulkes as wat sy verbond bewaar, en aan dié wat sy gebooie onthou om dit te doen.
19
The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
Die HERE het sy troon in die hemele berei; en sy koninkryk heers oor alles.
20
Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
Seën die HERE, julle sy engele, wat in krag uitblink, wat sy gebooie doen, en luister na die stem van sy woord.
21
Bless ye the LORD, all [ye] his hosts; [ye] ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
Seën die HERE, al julle sy leërskare; julle dienaars van Hom, wat sy behae doen.
22
Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.
Seën die HERE, al sy werke in al plekke van sy heerskappy: seën die HERE, o my siel.
