And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This [is] the thing which the LORD hath commanded.
En Moses het tot die hoofde van die stamme aangaande die kinders van Israel gespreek, en gesê, Dit is die saak wat die HERE beveel het.
2
If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
As ‚'n man ‚'n gelofte aan die HERE doen, of ‚'n eed sweer om sy siel met ‚'n verbintenis te bind; hy mag sy woord nie breek nie, hy moet doen volgens alles wat uit sy mond uitgegaan het.

If a woman also vow a vow unto the LORD, and bind [herself] by a bond, [being] in her father’s house in her youth;
As ‚'n vrou ook ‚'n gelofte aan die HERE doen, en haar met ‚'n verbintenis bind, terwyl sy nog in haar vader se huis is in haar jeug;
4
And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.
En haar vader haar gelofte hoor, en haar verbintenis waarmee sy haar siel gebind het, en haar vader stilbly teenoor haar: dan moet al haar geloftes staan, en elke verbintenis waarmee sy haar siel gebind het, moet staan.

But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
Maar as haar vader haar verbied op die dag dat hy dit hoor; nie enige van haar geloftes, of van haar verbintenisse waarmee sy haar siel gebind het, moet staan nie: en die HERE sal haar vergewe, omdat haar vader haar verbied het.

And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;
En as sy ‚'n man het, wanneer sy ‚'n gelofte doen, of iets onbedagsaam uit haar lippe uitspreek, waarmee sy haar siel bind;

And her husband heard [it,] and held his peace at her in the day that he heard [it]: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
En haar man dit hoor, en stilbly teenoor haar op die dag dat hy dit hoor: dan moet haar geloftes staan, en haar verbintenisse waarmee sy haar siel gebind het, moet staan.

But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard [it]; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall forgive her.
Maar as haar man haar verbied op die dag dat hy dit hoor; dan maak hy haar gelofte wat sy gedoen het, en dit wat sy onbedagsaam met haar lippe uitgespreek het, waarmee sy haar siel gebind het, nietig: en die HERE sal haar vergewe.

But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.
Maar elke gelofte van ‚'n weduwee, en van haar wat verstoot is, waarmee hulle hulle siele gebind het, moet staan.

And if she vowed in her husband’s house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath;
En as sy in haar man se huis ‚'n gelofte gedoen het, of haar siel met ‚'n verbintenis deur ‚'n eed gebind het;

And her husband heard [it], and held his peace at her, [and] disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
En haar man dit gehoor het, en stilgebly het teenoor haar, en haar nie verbied het nie; dan moet al haar geloftes staan, en elke verbintenis waarmee sy haar siel gebind het, moet staan.

But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard [them; then] whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her.
Maar as haar man hulle heeltemal nietig gemaak het op die dag dat hy dit gehoor het; dan mag niks van dit wat uit haar lippe uitgegaan het aangaande haar geloftes, of aangaande die verbintenis van haar siel, staan nie: haar man het hulle nietig gemaak; en die HERE sal haar vergewe.

Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.
Elke gelofte, en elke bindende eed om die siel te verootmoedig, mag haar man bevestig, of haar man mag dit nietig maak.
14
But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which [are] upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard [them].
Maar as haar man van dag tot dag heeltemal stilbly teenoor haar; dan bevestig hy al haar geloftes, of al haar verbintenisse, wat op haar is: hy bevestig hulle, omdat hy stilgebly het teenoor haar op die dag dat hy dit gehoor het.

But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard [them]; then he shall bear her iniquity.
Maar as hy hulle enigsins nietig maak nadat hy dit gehoor het; dan moet hy haar ongeregtigheid dra.
16
These [are] the statutes, which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, [being yet] in her youth in her father’s house.
Dit is die insettinge, wat die HERE Moses beveel het, tussen ‚'n man en sy vrou, tussen die vader en sy dogter, terwyl sy nog in haar jeug in haar vader se huis is.
