And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.
En Bileam het tot Balak gesê, Bou hier vir my sewe altare, en berei hier vir my sewe bulle en sewe ramme.

And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on [every] altar a bullock and a ram.
En Balak het gedoen soos Bileam gesê het; en Balak en Bileam het ’n bul en ’n ram op elke altaar geoffer.

And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.
En Bileam het tot Balak gesê, Staan by jou brandoffer, en ek sal gaan: miskien sal die HERE my tegemoet kom: en watter ding ook al Hy my toon, sal ek jou vertel. En hy het na ’n hoë plek gegaan.

And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon [every] altar a bullock and a ram.
En God het Bileam ontmoet: en hy het tot Hom gesê, Ek het sewe altare berei, en ek het ’n bul en ’n ram op elke altaar geoffer.

And the LORD put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.
En die HERE het ’n woord in Bileam se mond gesit, en gesê, Keer terug na Balak, en so moet jy spreek.

And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab.
En hy het na hom teruggekeer, en kyk, hy het by sy brandoffer gestaan, hy, en al die vorste van Moab.

And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, [saying], Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.
En hy het sy spreuk opgeneem, en gesê, Balak die koning van Moab het my uit Aram gebring, uit die berge van die ooste, en gesê, Kom, vloek Jakob vir my, en kom, daag Israel uit.

How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, [whom] the LORD hath not defied?
Hoe sal ek vloek wie God nie vervloek het nie? of hoe sal ek daag uit wie die HERE nie uitgedaag het nie?

For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
Want van die top van die rotse sien ek hom, en van die heuwels af aanskou ek hom: kyk, die volk sal alleen woon, en sal nie gereken word onder die nasies nie.

Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth [part] of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!
Wie kan die stof van Jakob tel, en die getal van die vierde deel van Israel? Laat my sterwe die dood van die regverdiges, en laat my einde soos die syne wees!

And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed [them] altogether.
En Balak het tot Bileam gesê, Wat het jy aan my gedoen? ek het jou geneem om my vyande te vloek, en kyk, jy het hulle algeheel geseën.

And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?
En hy het geantwoord en gesê, Moet ek nie ag gee om dit te spreek wat die HERE in my mond gesit het nie?

And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.
En Balak het tot hom gesê, Kom tog saam met my na ’n ander plek, vanwaar jy hulle kan sien: jy sal net die uiterste deel van hulle sien, en sal hulle nie almal sien nie: en vloek hulle vir my van daar af.

And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on [every] altar.
En hy het hom gebring na die veld van Sofim, na die top van Pisga, en sewe altare gebou, en ‚'n bul en ‚'n ram op elke altaar geoffer.

And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet [the LORD] yonder.
En hy het tot Balak gesê, Staan hier by jou brandoffer, terwyl ek daar ontmoet.

And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.
En die HERE het Bileam ontmoet, en ’n woord in sy mond gesit, en gesê, Keer terug na Balak, en so moet jy spreek.

And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken?
En toe hy by hom kom, kyk, hy het by sy brandoffer gestaan, en die vorste van Moab by hom. En Balak het tot hom gesê, Wat het die HERE gespreek?

And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, thou son of Zippor:
En hy het sy spreuk opgeneem, en gesê, Staan op, Balak, en hoor; luister na my, jy seun van Sippor:
19
God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do [it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
God is nie ’n man, dat Hy sou lieg nie; en ook nie ’n mensekind, dat Hy sou berou hê nie: het Hy gesê, en sal Hy dit nie doen nie? of het Hy gespreek, en sal Hy dit nie uitvoer nie?

Behold, I have received [commandment] to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
Kyk, ek het bevel ontvang om te seën: en Hy het geseën; en ek kan dit nie omkeer nie.
21
He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God [is] with him, and the shout of a king [is] among them.
Hy het geen ongeregtigheid in Jakob aanskou nie, en geen verkeerdheid in Israel gesien nie: die HERE sy God is met hom, en die gejuig van ‚'n koning is onder hom.
22
God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.
God het hulle uitgebring uit Egipte; hy het as‚'t ware die sterkte van ‚'n renoster.
23
Surely [there is] no enchantment against Jacob, neither [is there] any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!
Sekerlik is daar geen towerwerk teen Jakob nie, en geen waarsêery teen Israel nie: volgens hierdie tyd sal daar van Jakob en van Israel gesê word, Wat het God gedoen!

Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat [of] the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.
Kyk, die volk sal opstaan soos ’n groot leeu, en homself verhef soos ’n jong leeu: hy sal nie lê totdat hy die prooi eet, en die bloed van die wat doodgemaak is, drink nie.

And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.
En Balak het tot Bileam gesê, Moenie hulle hoegenaamd vloek nie, en moenie hulle hoegenaamd seën nie.

But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?
Maar Bileam het geantwoord en tot Balak gesê, Het ek jou nie gesê, Alles wat die HERE spreek, dit moet ek doen nie?
27
And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.
En Balak het tot Bileam gesê, Kom tog, ek sal jou na ’n ander plek bring; miskien sal dit God behaag dat jy hulle vir my van daar af kan vloek.

And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Jeshimon.
En Balak het Bileam gebring na die top van Peor, wat uitsien oor die wildernis.

And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.
