Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.
Toe het Eljasib die hoëpriester opgestaan met sy broers die priesters, en hulle het die skaappoort gebou; hulle het dit geheilig, en die deure daarvan opgesit; selfs tot by die toring van Mea het hulle dit geheilig, tot by die toring van Hananel.

And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.
En by hom het die manne van Jérigo gebou. En by hulle het Sakkur die seun van Imri gebou.

But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who [also] laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
Maar die vispoort het die seuns van Hassenaä gebou; hulle het die balke daarvan gelê, en die deure daarvan opgesit, die slotte, en die grendels daarvan.

And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.
En by hulle het Meremot die seun van Uriá, die seun van Kos, herstel. En by hulle het Mesullam die seun van Beregja, die seun van Meseisabeël, herstel. En by hulle het Sadok die seun van Baäna herstel.

And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.
En by hulle het die Tekoïete herstel; maar hulle edeles het hulle nekke nie in die diens van hulle Here gesit nie.

Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
Bowendien het die ou poort Jójada die seun van Paseag, en Mesullam die seun van Besodja, herstel; hulle het die balke daarvan gelê, en die deure daarvan, en die slotte daarvan, en die grendels daarvan opgesit.

And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.
En by hulle het Melatja die Gibeoniet, en Jadon die Meronotiet, die manne van Gibeon, en van Mispa, herstel, tot by die troon van die goewerneur aan hierdie kant van die rivier.

Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of [one of] the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.
By hom het Ussiël die seun van Harhája, van die goudsmede, herstel. By hom het ook Hananja die seun van een van die aptekers herstel, en hulle het Jérusalem geheilig tot by die breë muur.

And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.
En by hulle het Refája die seun van Hur, die heerser van die helfte van Jérusalem, herstel.

And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.
En by hulle het Jedája die seun van Harúmaf herstel, selfs teenoor sy huis. En by hom het Hattus die seun van Hasabneja herstel.

Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.
Malkía die seun van Harim, en Hassub die seun van Pahat-Moab, het die ander stuk herstel, en die toring van die oonde.

And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.
En by hom het Sallum die seun van Halohes, die heerser van die helfte van Jérusalem, herstel, hy en sy dogters.

The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.
Die dalpoort het Hanun, en die inwoners van Sanoag, herstel; hulle het dit gebou, en die deure daarvan opgesit, die slotte daarvan, en die grendels daarvan, en ‚'n duisend el op die muur tot by die mispoort.

But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Bethhaccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
Maar die mispoort het Malkía die seun van Regab, die heerser van die deel van Bet-Haggerem, herstel; hy het dit gebou, en die deure daarvan opgesit, die slotte daarvan, en die grendels daarvan.

But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king’s garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.
Maar die fonteinpoort het Sallum die seun van Kol-Hose, die heerser van die deel van Mispa, herstel; hy het dit gebou, en dit bedek, en die deure daarvan opgesit, die slotte daarvan, en die grendels daarvan, en die muur van die dam van Siloa by die koning se tuin, en tot by die trappe wat van die stad van Dawid afdaal.

After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto [the place] over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.
Ná hom het Nehemía die seun van Asbuk, die heerser van die helfte van Bet-Sur, herstel, tot by die plek teenoor die grafte van Dawid, en tot by die dam wat gemaak is, en tot by die huis van die dapper manne.

After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.
Ná hom het die Leviete, Rehum die seun van Bani, herstel. By hom het Hasabja, die heerser van die helfte van Keíla, in sy deel herstel.

After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.
Ná hom het hulle broers, Bavwai die seun van Henadad, die heerser van die helfte van Keíla, herstel.

And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning [of the wall].
En by hom het Eser die seun van Jesua, die heerser van Mispa, ‚'n ander stuk herstel, teenoor die opgang na die wapenhuis by die draai.

After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning [of the wall] unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
Ná hom het Barug die seun van Sabbai ywerig ’n ander stuk herstel, van die draai af tot by die deur van die huis van Eljasib die hoëpriester.

After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.
Ná hom het Meremot die seun van Uriá die seun van Kos ’n ander stuk herstel, van die deur van die huis van Eljasib af selfs tot by die end van die huis van Eljasib.

And after him repaired the priests, the men of the plain.
En ná hom het die priesters, die manne van die vlakte, herstel.

After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.
Ná hom het Benjamin en Hassub teenoor hulle huis herstel. Ná hom het Asarja die seun van Maäseja die seun van Ananja by sy huis herstel.

After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning [of the wall], even unto the corner.
Ná hom het Binnui die seun van Henadad ’n ander stuk herstel, van die huis van Asarja af tot by die draai, selfs tot by die hoek.
25
Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning [of the wall], and the tower which lieth out from the king’s high house, that [was] by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.
Palal die seun van Usai, teenoor die draai, en die toring wat uit die koning se bo-huis uitsteek, wat by die voorhof van die gevangenis is. Ná hom het Pedája die seun van Paros.

Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto [the place] over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out.
Bowendien die Netinim wat in Ofel gewoon het, tot by die plek teenoor die waterpoort na die ooste, en die toring wat uitsteek.

After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.
Ná hulle het die Tekoïete ’n ander stuk herstel, teenoor die groot toring wat uitsteek, selfs tot by die muur van Ofel.

From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.
Van bo die perdepoort af het die priesters herstel, elkeen teenoor sy huis.

After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.
Ná hulle het Sadok die seun van Immer teenoor sy huis herstel. Ná hom het ook Semája die seun van Seganja, die bewaarder van die oospoort, herstel.

After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against his chamber.
Ná hom het Hananja die seun van Selemja, en Hanun die sesde seun van Salaf, ’n ander stuk herstel. Ná hom het Mesullam die seun van Beregja teenoor sy kamer herstel.

After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.
Ná hom het Malkía die seun van die goudsmid tot by die plek van die Netinim, en van die handelaars, teenoor die poort Mifkad, en tot by die opgang van die hoek, herstel.

And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.
En tussen die opgang van die hoek tot by die skaappoort het die goudsmede en die handelaars herstel.
