And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
En Hy het tot hulle gesê, Voorwaar sê ek vir julle, Dat daar sommige is van dié wat hier staan, wat die dood geensins sal proe nie, totdat hulle die koninkryk van God sien kom met krag.

And after six days Jesus taketh [with him] Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
En ná ses dae het Jesus Petrus, en Jakobus, en Johannes geneem, en hulle op ’n hoë berg alleen opgelei: en Hy is voor hulle van gedaante verander.

And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
En sy klere het blink geword, uitermate wit soos sneeu; soos geen bleker op die aarde hulle kan wit maak nie.

And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
En daar het aan hulle Elia met Moses verskyn: en hulle het met Jesus gespreek.

And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
En Petrus het geantwoord en tot Jesus gesê, Meester, dit is goed vir ons om hier te wees: en laat ons drie tabernakels maak; een vir U, en een vir Moses, en een vir Elia.

For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
Want hy het nie geweet wat om te sê nie; want hulle was baie bevrees.
7
And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
En daar was ’n wolk wat hulle oorskadu het: en ’n stem het uit die wolk gekom, sê, Dit is my geliefde Seun: hoor Hom.
8
And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
En skielik, toe hulle rondgekyk het, het hulle niemand meer by hulle gesien nie, behalwe Jesus alleen met hulle.
9
And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
En toe hulle van die berg afklim, het Hy hulle beveel dat hulle aan niemand moes vertel wat hulle gesien het nie, totdat die Seun van die mens uit die dooies opgestaan het.

And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
En hulle het daardie saak by hulleself gehou, en onder mekaar gevra wat die opstanding uit die dooies beteken.

And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?
En hulle het Hom gevra, sê, Waarom sê die skrifgeleerdes dat Elia eers moet kom?
12
And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
En Hy het geantwoord en tot hulle gesê, Elia kom waarlik eers, en herstel alle dinge; en hoe is dit van die Seun van die mens geskrywe, dat Hy baie dinge moet ly, en verag word.

But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.
Maar ek sê vir julle, Dat Elia inderdaad gekom het, en hulle het aan hom gedoen wat hulle wou, soos van hom geskrywe is.
14
And when he came to [his] disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
En toe Hy by die dissipels kom, het Hy ‚'n groot skare om hulle gesien, en die skrifgeleerdes wat met hulle redeneer.
15
And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to [him] saluted him.
En dadelik toe al die mense Hom sien, was hulle baie verbaas, en het gehardloop om Hom te groet.
16
And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?
En Hy het die skrifgeleerdes gevra, Wat redeneer julle met hulle?
17
And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
En een van die skare het geantwoord en gesê, Meester, ek het my seun by U gebring, wat ’n stom gees het;
18
And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
En waar hy hom ook al gryp, skeur hy hom; en hy skuim, en kners met sy tande, en verdor weg: en ek het tot u dissipels gespreek dat hulle hom moet uitdryf; en hulle kon nie.

He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
Hy het hom geantwoord, en sê, o Ongelowige geslag, hoe lank sal ek by julle wees? hoe lank sal ek julle verdra? Bring hom by My.
20
And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
En hulle het hom by Hom gebring: en toe hy Hom sien, het die gees hom dadelik stuiptrekkings gegee; en hy het op die grond geval, en gerol, en geskuim.
21
And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
En Hy het sy vader gevra, Hoe lank is dit dat dit so met hom is? En hy het gesê, Van kindsbeen af.
22
And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
En dikwels het dit hom in die vuur en in die waters gegooi, om hom te vernietig: maar as U iets kan doen, wees ons barmhartig, en help ons.
23
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things [are] possible to him that believeth.
Jesus het tot hom gesê, As jy kan glo, alle dinge is moontlik vir hom wat glo.
24
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
En dadelik het die vader van die kind uitgeroep, en met trane gesê, Here, ek glo; help my ongeloof.
25
When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, [Thou] dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
Toe Jesus sien dat die skare bymekaarhardloop, het Hy die onreine gees bestraf, sê tot hom, Jy stom en doof gees, ek beveel jou, gaan uit van hom, en gaan nie meer in hom in nie.

And [the spirit] cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
En die gees het uitgeroep, en hom baie stuiptrekkings gegee, en is uitgegaan van hom: en hy was soos een dood; insoweer dat baie gesê het, Hy is dood.
27
But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
Maar Jesus het hom by die hand geneem, en hom opgerig; en hy het opgestaan.
28
And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
En toe Hy in die huis gekom het, het sy dissipels Hom in die geheim gevra, Waarom kon ons hom nie uitdryf nie?
29
And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
En Hy het tot hulle gesê, Hierdie soort kan deur niks uitgaan nie, behalwe deur gebed en vas.
30
And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know [it].
En hulle het daarvandaan vertrek, en deur Galilea gegaan; en Hy wou nie hê dat enige man dit moes weet nie.
31
For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
Want Hy het sy dissipels geleer, en tot hulle gesê, Die Seun van die mens word oorgelewer in die hande van die mense, en hulle sal Hom doodmaak; en nadat Hy doodgemaak is, sal Hy die derde dag opstaan.

But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
Maar hulle het nie verstaan wat Hy gesê het nie, en was bevrees om Hom te vra.
33
And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
En Hy het in Kapérnaüm gekom: en toe Hy in die huis was, het Hy hulle gevra, Wat het julle onder mekaar op die pad geredeneer?

But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who [should be] the greatest.
Maar hulle het stilgebly: want op die pad het hulle onder mekaar geredeneer wie die grootste was.
35
And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, [the same] shall be last of all, and servant of all.
En Hy het gaan sit, en die twaalf geroep, en tot hulle gesê, As iemand die eerste wil wees, dieselfde sal die laaste van almal wees, en dienaar van almal.

And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
En Hy het ’n kindjie geneem, en hom in die midde van hulle gestel: en toe Hy hom in sy arms geneem het, het Hy tot hulle gesê,
37
Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
Elkeen wat een van sulke kindertjies in my Naam ontvang, ontvang My: en elkeen wat My ontvang, ontvang nie My nie, maar Hom wat My gestuur het.

And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
En Johannes het Hom geantwoord, sê, Meester, ons het een gesien wat duiwels uitdryf in u Naam, en hy volg ons nie: en ons het hom verbied, omdat hy ons nie volg nie.
39
But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
Maar Jesus het gesê, Verbied hom nie: want daar is niemand wat ’n wonderwerk in my Naam sal doen, wat ligelik van My kwaad kan spreek nie.
40
For he that is not against us is on our part.
Want hy wat nie teen ons is nie, is vir ons.
41
For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
Want elkeen wat julle ’n beker water te drinke gee in my Naam, omdat julle aan Christus behoort, voorwaar sê ek vir julle, hy sal geensins sy loon verloor nie.
42
And whosoever shall offend one of [these] little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
En elkeen wat een van hierdie kleintjies wat in My glo, laat struikel, dit is beter vir hom dat ‚'n meulsteen om sy nek gehang word, en hy in die see gegooi word.
43
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
En as jou hand jou laat struikel, kap dit af: dit is beter vir jou om vermink die lewe in te gaan, as om twee hande te hê, en in die hel te gaan, in die vuur wat nooit uitgeblus word nie:
44
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Waar hulle wurm nie sterwe nie, en die vuur nie uitgeblus word nie.
45
And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
En as jou voet jou laat struikel, kap dit af: dit is beter vir jou om kreupel die lewe in te gaan, as om twee voete te hê, en in die hel gewerp te word, in die vuur wat nooit uitgeblus word nie:
46
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Waar hulle wurm nie sterwe nie, en die vuur nie uitgeblus word nie.
47
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
En as jou oog jou laat struikel, ruk dit uit: dit is beter vir jou om met een oog in die koninkryk van God in te gaan, as om twee oë te hê, en in die helvuur gewerp te word:

Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Waar hulle wurm nie sterwe nie, en die vuur nie uitgeblus word nie.
49
For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
Want elkeen sal met vuur gesout word, en elke offerande sal met sout gesout word.
50
Salt [is] good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
Sout is goed: maar as die sout sy southeid verloor het, waarmee sal julle dit smaaklik maak? Het sout in julle self, en hê vrede met mekaar.
