And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve [were] with him,
En dit het gebeur daarna, dat Hy deur elke stad en dorp gegaan het, en die blye tydinge van die koninkryk van God verkondig het: en die twaalf was by Hom,

And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
En sekere vroue, wat van boos geeste en siektes genees was, Maria genaamd Magdaléna, uit wie sewe duiwels uitgegaan het,

And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.
En Johanna die vrou van Chusa, Herodes se rentmeester, en Susanna, en baie andere, wat Hom van hulle besittings bedien het.

And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
En toe baie mense bymekaargekom het, en uit elke stad by Hom gekom het, het Hy deur ‚'n gelykenis gespreek:

A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
’n Saaier het uitgegaan om sy saad te saai: en soos hy gesaai het, het sommige by die pad geval; en dit is vertrap, en die voëls van die hemel het dit opgeëet.

And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
En sommige het op ‚'n rots geval; en so gou as dit opgekom het, het dit verdor, omdat dit geen vogtigheid gehad het nie.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
En sommige het tussen die dorings geval; en die dorings het saam met dit opgekom, en dit verstik.

And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
En ander het in goeie grond geval, en opgekom, en vrug voortgebring ’n honderdmaal. En toe Hy dit gesê het, het Hy uitgeroep, Hy wat ore het om te hoor, laat hom hoor.

And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
En sy dissipels het Hom gevra, sê, Wat mag hierdie gelykenis wees?

And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
En Hy het gesê, Aan julle is dit gegee om die geheimenisse van die koninkryk van God te ken: maar aan die ander in gelykenisse; dat hulle siende nie mag sien nie, en horende nie mag verstaan nie.

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Nou is die gelykenis hierdie: Die saad is die woord van God.

Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
Dié by die pad is hulle wat hoor; daarna kom die duiwel, en neem die woord uit hulle harte weg, dat hulle nie mag glo en gered word nie.
13
They on the rock [are they], which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Dié op die rots is hulle, wat, wanneer hulle hoor, die woord met blydskap ontvang; en hierdie het geen wortel nie, wat vir ’n tyd glo, en in die tyd van versoeking afval.

And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of [this] life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
En dit wat tussen die dorings geval het, is hulle, wat, wanneer hulle gehoor het, uitgaan, en verstik word met sorg, en rykdom, en die genot van hierdie lewe, en bring geen vrug tot rypheid nie.

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience.
Maar dit op die goeie grond is hulle, wat in ‚'n eerlike en goeie hart die woord gehoor het, dit bewaar, en vrug voortbring met volharding.
16
No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth [it] under a bed; but setteth [it] on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
Niemand, wanneer hy ’n kers aangesteek het, bedek dit met ’n vat, of sit dit onder ’n bed nie; maar sit dit op ’n kandelaar, dat dié wat binnekom die lig mag sien.

For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither [any thing] hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
Want niks is verborge, wat nie openbaar sal word nie; en niks is geheim, wat nie bekend sal word en in die openbaar kom nie.
18
Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.
Gee daarom ag hoe julle hoor: want elkeen wat het, aan hom sal gegee word; en elkeen wat nie het nie, van hom sal geneem word selfs wat hy skyn te hê.

Then came to him [his] mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
Toe het sy moeder en sy broers by Hom gekom, en kon nie by Hom kom vanweë die skare nie.
20
And it was told him [by certain] which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
En daar is aan Hom vertel deur sommige wat gesê het, U moeder en u broers staan buite, en begeer om U te sien.
21
And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
En Hy het geantwoord en tot hulle gesê, My moeder en my broers is dit, wat die woord van God hoor, en dit doen.
22
Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
Nou dit het gebeur op ’n sekere dag, dat Hy in ’n skip gegaan het met sy dissipels: en Hy het tot hulle gesê, Laat ons oorkant die meer toe gaan. En hulle het uitgevaar.

But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled [with water], and were in jeopardy.
Maar soos hulle gevaar het, het Hy aan die slaap geraak: en daar het ‚'n stormwind op die meer neergekom; en hulle is met water oorstroom, en was in gevaar.

And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
En hulle het by Hom gekom, en Hom wakker gemaak, sê, Meester, meester, ons vergaan. Toe het Hy opgestaan, en die wind en die woeling van die water bestraf: en hulle het gaan lê, en daar was ’n stilte.

And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
En Hy het tot hulle gesê, Waar is julle geloof? En hulle, bevrees synde, het hulle verwonder, sê tot mekaar, Watter soort man is dit! want Hy beveel selfs die winde en water, en hulle gehoorsaam Hom.

And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
En hulle het by die land van die Gadaréne aangekom, wat oorkant Galilea is.
27
And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in [any] house, but in the tombs.
En toe Hy aan land gaan, het Hom ‚'n sekere man uit die stad ontmoet, wat al lank duiwels gehad het, en geen klere aangehad het nie, en in geen huis gebly het nie, maar in die grafte.

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, [thou] Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.
Toe hy Jesus sien, het hy uitgeroep, en voor Hom neergeval, en met ’n groot stem gesê, Wat het ek met U te doen, Jesus, U Seun van God die Allerhoogste? ek bid U, pynig my nie.

(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
(Want Hy het die onreine gees beveel om uit die mens uit te gaan. Want dikwels het dit hom gegryp: en hy is bewaak, en met kettings en in voetboeie gebind; en hy het die bande stukkend gebreek, en is deur die duiwel in die wildernis gedryf.)

And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
En Jesus het hom gevra, sê, Wat is jou naam? En hy het gesê, Legioen: omdat baie duiwels in hom ingegaan het.

And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
En hulle het Hom gesmeek dat Hy hulle nie sou beveel om in die afgrond uit te gaan nie.
32
And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.
En daar was daar ‚'n trop baie varke aan die wei op die berg: en hulle het Hom gesmeek dat Hy hulle sou toelaat om in hulle in te gaan. En Hy het hulle toegelaat.

Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.
Toe het die duiwels uit die mens uitgegaan, en in die varke ingegaan: en die trop het van die steilte af in die meer gehardloop, en is verstik.

When they that fed [them] saw what was done, they fled, and went and told [it] in the city and in the country.
Toe dié wat hulle opgepas het, sien wat gebeur het, het hulle gevlug, en dit in die stad en in die land gegaan, en dit vertel.
35
Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
Toe het hulle uitgegaan om te sien wat gebeur het; en by Jesus gekom, en die man gevind uit wie die duiwels uitgegaan het, sittende aan die voete van Jesus, gekleed, en by sy verstand: en hulle was bevrees.

They also which saw [it] told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.
Hulle ook wat dit gesien het, het hulle vertel hoe hy wat van die duiwels besete was, genees is.
37
Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.
Toe het die hele menigte van die omliggende streek van die Gadaréne Hom gesmeek om van hulle weg te gaan; want hulle was met groot vrees bevange: en Hy het in die skip gegaan, en teruggekeer.

Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,
Nou die man uit wie die duiwels uitgegaan het, het Hom gesmeek dat hy by Hom mag wees: maar Jesus het hom weggestuur, sê,
39
Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
Keer terug na jou eie huis, en toon watter groot dinge God vir jou gedoen het. En hy het weggegaan, en deur die hele stad verkondig watter groot dinge Jesus vir hom gedoen het.

And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people [gladly] received him: for they were all waiting for him.
En dit het gebeur, dat, toe Jesus teruggekeer het, die skare Hom met blydskap ontvang het: want hulle het almal op Hom gewag.
41
And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
En kyk, daar het ’n man gekom, met die naam van Jaïrus, en hy was ’n owerste van die sinagoge: en hy het by Jesus se voete neergeval, en Hom gesmeek dat Hy in sy huis sou kom:

For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
Want hy het net een dogter gehad, omtrent twaalf jaar oud, en sy was sterwende. Maar soos Hy gegaan het, het die skare Hom verdruk.

And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
En ‚'n vrou wat twaalf jaar lank ‚'n bloedvloeiing gehad het, wat al haar lewensonderhoud aan geneeshere bestee het, en deur niemand genees kon word nie,
44
Came behind [him], and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
Het van agter gekom, en die soom van sy kleed aangeraak: en dadelik het haar bloedvloeiing gestil.
45
And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press [thee], and sayest thou, Who touched me?
En Jesus het gesê, Wie het My aangeraak? Toe almal dit ontken het, het Petrus en dié wat by Hom was, gesê, Meester, die skare verdruk en druk U, en sê U, Wie het My aangeraak?

And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
En Jesus het gesê, Iemand het My aangeraak: want ek weet dat daar krag van My uitgegaan het.
47
And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
En toe die vrou sien dat sy nie verborge was nie, het sy bewend gekom, en voor Hom neergeval, en Hom voor die hele volk vertel om watter rede sy Hom aangeraak het, en hoe sy dadelik genees is.

And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
En Hy het tot haar gesê, Dogter, wees goedsmoeds: jou geloof het jou gered; gaan in vrede.
49
While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s [house], saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
Terwyl Hy nog gespreek het, kom daar een van die owerste van die sinagoge se huis, sê tot hom, U dogter is dood; bemoei die Meester nie.
50
But when Jesus heard [it], he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
Maar toe Jesus dit hoor, het Hy hom geantwoord, sê, Vrees nie: glo net, en sy sal genees word.

And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
En toe Hy in die huis kom, het Hy niemand toegelaat om in te gaan nie, behalwe Petrus, en Jakobus, en Johannes, en die vader en die moeder van die dogtertjie.

And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
En almal het geween, en haar beklaag: maar Hy het gesê, Ween nie; sy is nie dood nie, maar slaap.
53
And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
En hulle het Hom uitgelag, wetende dat sy dood was.
54
And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.
En Hy het hulle almal uitgewerp, en haar by die hand geneem, en uitgeroep, sê, Dogtertjie, staan op.
55
And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
En haar gees het teruggekeer, en sy het dadelik opgestaan: en Hy het beveel dat daar iets aan haar gegee moet word om te eet.
56
And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.
En haar ouers was verbaas: maar Hy het hulle beveel om aan niemand te sê wat gebeur het nie.
