And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
En Nadab en Abíhu, die seuns van Aäron, het elkeen sy vuurbak geneem, en vuur daarin gesit, en reukwerk daarop gesit, en vreemde vuur voor die HERE gebring, wat Hy hulle nie beveel het nie.

And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
En daar het vuur van die HERE uitgegaan, en hulle verteer, en hulle het voor die HERE gesterwe.

Then Moses said unto Aaron, This [is it] that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.
Toe het Moses tot Aäron gesê, Dit is dit wat die HERE gespreek het, en gesê, Ek sal geheilig word in hulle wat naby My is, en voor die hele volk sal ek verheerlik word. En Aäron het stilgebly.

And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.
En Moses het Misael en Elsafan, die seuns van Ussiël die oom van Aäron, geroep, en tot hulle gesê, Kom nader, dra julle broers weg van voor die heiligdom uit, buite die kamp.

So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.
So het hulle dan nader gekom, en hulle in hulle rokke buite die kamp uitgedra; soos Moses gesê het.

And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.
En Moses het tot Aäron, en tot Eleásar en tot Itamar, sy seuns, gesê, Moenie julle hoofde ontbloot, en julle klere nie skeur nie; dat julle nie sterwe, en dat Hy nie toornig word op die hele vergadering nie: maar laat julle broers, die hele huis van Israel, die brand betreur wat die HERE aangesteek het.

And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD [is] upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
En julle mag nie uitgaan uit die deur van die tabernakel van die gemeente nie, dat julle nie sterwe nie: want die salfolie van die HERE is op julle. En hulle het gedoen volgens die woord van Moses.

And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,
En die HERE het tot Aäron gespreek, en gesê,

Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: [it shall be] a statute for ever throughout your generations:
Moenie wyn of sterk drank drink, jy, of jou seuns saam met jou, wanneer julle in die tabernakel van die gemeente ingaan, dat julle nie sterwe nie: dit moet ‚'n ewige insetting wees deur julle geslagte:

And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
En dat julle onderskeid mag maak tussen heilig en onheilig, en tussen onrein en rein;

And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
En dat julle die kinders van Israel mag leer al die insettinge wat die HERE deur die hand van Moses tot hulle gespreek het.

And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it [is] most holy:
En Moses het tot Aäron, en tot Eleásar en tot Itamar, sy seuns wat oorgebly het, gespreek, Neem die spysoffer wat oorbly van die vuuroffers van die HERE, en eet dit ongesuurd by die altaar: want dit is allersheilig:

And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it [is] thy due, and thy sons’ due, of the sacrifices of the LORD made by fire: for so I am commanded.
En julle moet dit eet in die heilige plek, omdat dit jou deel is, en jou seuns se deel, van die vuuroffers van die HERE: want so is dit my beveel.

And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for [they be] thy due, and thy sons’ due, [which] are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.
En die beweegbors en die hefboud moet julle eet in ‚'n rein plek, jy, en jou seuns, en jou dogters saam met jou: want dit is jou deel, en jou seuns se deel, wat gegee is uit die offers van dankoffers van die kinders van Israel.

The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave [it for] a wave offering before the LORD; and it shall be thine, and thy sons’ with thee, by a statute for ever; as the LORD hath commanded.
Die hefboud en die beweegbors moet hulle bring met die vuuroffers van die vet, om heen en weer beweeg te word tot ‚'n beweegoffer voor die HERE; en dit moet jou en jou seuns saam met jou wees by ‚'n ewige insetting; soos die HERE beveel het.

And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron [which were] left [alive], saying,
En Moses het ywerig gesoek na die bok van die sondoffer, en kyk, dit was verbrand: en hy was toornig op Eleásar en Itamar, die seuns van Aäron wat oorgebly het, en hy het gesê,

Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it [is] most holy, and [God] hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?
Waarom het julle die sondoffer nie in die heilige plek geëet nie, aangesien dit allersheilig is, en Hy dit aan julle gegee het om die ongeregtigheid van die vergadering te dra, om versoening vir hulle te maak voor die HERE?

Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy [place]: ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy [place], as I commanded.
Kyk, die bloed daarvan is nie binne in die heilige plek gebring nie: julle moes dit sekerlik in die heilige plek geëet het, soos ek beveel het.

And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things have befallen me: and [if] I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD?
En Aäron het tot Moses gesê, Kyk, vandag het hulle hulle sondoffer en hulle brandoffer voor die HERE geoffer; en sulke dinge het my oorgekom: en as ek vandag die sondoffer geëet het, sou dit goed gewees het in die oë van die HERE?

And when Moses heard [that], he was content.
En toe Moses dit hoor, was dit goed in sy oë.
