1
These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
Hierdie woorde het Jesus gespreek, en sy oë na die hemel opgehef, en gesê, Vader, die uur is gekom; verheerlik u Seun, dat u Seun U ook mag verheerlik:

As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
Soos U Hom mag gegee het oor alle vlees, dat Hy die ewige lewe mag gee aan soveel as U Hom gegee het.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
En dit is die ewige lewe, dat hulle U ken, die enigste ware God, en Jesus Christus, wat U gestuur het.

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
Ek het U verheerlik op die aarde: ek het die werk voleindig wat U My gegee het om te doen.

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
En nou, o Vader, verheerlik My by Uself met die heerlikheid wat ek by U gehad het voordat die wêreld was.

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
Ek het u Naam geopenbaar aan die mense wat U My uit die wêreld gegee het: hulle was uwe, en U het hulle aan My gegee; en hulle het u woord bewaar.

Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
Nou het hulle geweet dat alles wat U My gegee het, van U is.
8
For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
Want ek het aan hulle die woorde gegee wat U My gegee het; en hulle het hulle ontvang, en het waarlik geweet dat ek van U uitgegaan het, en het geglo dat U My gestuur het.

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
Ek bid vir hulle: ek bid nie vir die wêreld nie, maar vir hulle wat U My gegee het; want hulle is uwe.
10
And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
En al myne is uwe, en uwe is myne; en ek is in hulle verheerlik.
11
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are].
En ek is nie meer in die wêreld nie, maar hierdie is in die wêreld, en ek kom tot U. Heilige Vader, bewaar deur u eie Naam dié wat U My gegee het, dat hulle een mag wees, soos Ons is.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
Terwyl ek by hulle in die wêreld was, het ek hulle bewaar in u Naam: dié wat U My gegee het het ek bewaar, en niemand van hulle is verlore nie, behalwe die seun van die verderf; dat die Skrif vervul mag word.

And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
En nou kom ek tot U; en hierdie dinge spreek ek in die wêreld, dat hulle my blydskap vervul in hulleself mag hê.

I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Ek het aan hulle u woord gegee; en die wêreld het hulle gehaat, omdat hulle nie van die wêreld is nie, net soos ek nie van die wêreld is nie.
15
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Ek bid nie dat U hulle uit die wêreld moet wegneem nie, maar dat U hulle moet bewaar van die boosheid.
16
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Hulle is nie van die wêreld nie, net soos ek nie van die wêreld is nie.
17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Heilig hulle deur u waarheid: u woord is die waarheid.
18
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
Soos U My in die wêreld gestuur het, so het ek hulle ook in die wêreld gestuur.
19
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
En om hulle ontwil heilig ek Myself, dat hulle ook geheilig mag wees deur die waarheid.
20
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
En ek bid nie vir hierdie alleen nie, maar ook vir dié wat in My sal glo deur hulle woord;
21
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Dat hulle almal een mag wees; soos U, Vader, in My is, en ek in U, dat hulle ook een in Ons mag wees: dat die wêreld mag glo dat U My gestuur het.

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
En die heerlikheid wat U My gegee het, het ek aan hulle gegee; dat hulle een mag wees, net soos Ons een is:

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Ek in hulle, en U in My, dat hulle volmaak een mag wees; en dat die wêreld mag weet dat U My gestuur het, en hulle liefgehad het, soos U My liefgehad het.

Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
Vader, ek wil dat hulle ook, wat U My gegee het, by My mag wees waar ek is; dat hulle my heerlikheid mag aanskou, wat U My gegee het: want U het My liefgehad voor die grondlegging van die wêreld.

O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
O regverdige Vader, die wêreld het U nie geken nie: maar ek het U geken, en hierdie het geweet dat U My gestuur het.

And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare [it]: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
En ek het aan hulle u Naam bekend gemaak, en sal dit bekend maak: dat die liefde waarmee U My liefgehad het in hulle mag wees, en ek in hulle.
