And it came to pass, [that] when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking unto all the people all the words of the LORD their God, for which the LORD their God had sent him to them, [even] all these words,
En dit het gebeur, toe Jeremia geëindig het om tot die hele volk al die woorde van die HERE hulle God te spreek, waarvoor die HERE hulle God hom tot hulle gestuur het, selfs al hierdie woorde,

Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:
Toe het Azarja die seun van Hosaja, en Johanan die seun van Kareah, en al die trots manne, tot Jeremia gespreek, sê, Jy spreek vals: die HERE onse God het jou nie gestuur om te sê, Moet nie in Egipte ingaan om daar te woon nie:

But Baruch the son of Neriah setteth thee on against us, for to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon.
Maar Barug die seun van Nería sit jou teen ons op, om ons in die hand van die Chaldeërs oorgee, dat hulle ons mag doodmaak, en ons na Babel mag wegvoer.

So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.
So het Johanan die seun van Kareah, en al die kapteins van die leërs, en al die volk, nie die stem van die HERE gehoorsaam om in die land van Juda te bly nie.

But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, that were returned from all nations, whither they had been driven, to dwell in the land of Judah;
Maar Johanan die seun van Kareah, en al die kapteins van die leërs, het al die oorblyfsel van Juda geneem, wat teruggekeer het uit al die nasies waarheen hulle verdryf was, om in die land van Juda te woon;

[Even] men, and women, and children, and the king’s daughters, and every person that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah.
Selfs manne, en vroue, en kinders, en die koning se dogters, en elke persoon wat Nebusaradan die kaptein van die wag by Gedalja die seun van Ahíkam die seun van Safan gelaat het, en die profeet Jeremia, en Barug die seun van Nería.

So they came into the land of Egypt: for they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: thus came they [even] to Tahpanhes.
So het hulle in die land van Egipte gekom: want hulle het nie die stem van die HERE gehoorsaam nie: so het hulle tot by Tahpanhes gekom.

Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
Toe het die woord van die HERE tot Jeremia in Tahpanhes gekom, sê,

Take great stones in thine hand, and hide them in the clay in the brickkiln, which [is] at the entry of Pharaoh’s house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;
Neem groot klippe in jou hand, en verberg hulle in die klei in die baksteen oond, wat by die ingang van Farao se huis in Tahpanhes is, in die oë van die manne van Juda;

And say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne upon these stones that I have hid; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.
En sê tot hulle, So sê die HERE van leërskare, die God van Israel; Kyk, ek sal stuur, en Nebukadrésar die koning van Babel, my dienaar, neem, en sal sy troon op hierdie klippe sit wat ek verberg het; en hy sal sy pragtige tent daaroor uitsprei.

And when he cometh, he shall smite the land of Egypt, [and deliver] such [as are] for death to death; and such [as are] for captivity to captivity; and such [as are] for the sword to the sword.
En wanneer hy kom, sal hy die land van Egipte slaan, en oorgee dié wat tot die dood is tot die dood; en dié wat tot die gevangenisskap is tot die gevangenisskap; en dié wat tot die swaard is tot die swaard.

And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd putteth on his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in peace.
En ek sal ‚'n vuur aansteek in die huise van die gode van Egipte; en hy sal hulle verbrand, en hulle wegvoer: en hy sal homself met die land van Egipte beklee, soos ‚'n herder homself met sy kleed beklee; en hy sal in vrede daarvandaan uitgaan.

He shall break also the images of Bethshemesh, that [is] in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.
Hy sal ook die beelde van Bet-Semes, wat in die land van Egipte is, verbreek; en die huise van die gode van die Egiptenaars sal hy met vuur verbrand.
