Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

Kyk, die HERE se hand is nie verkort dat dit nie kan red nie; en sy oor is nie swaar dat dit nie kan hoor nie:

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.

Maar julle ongeregtighede het skeiding gemaak tussen julle en julle God, en julle sondes het sy aangesig van julle verberg, dat Hy nie sal hoor nie.

For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

Want julle hande is verontreinig met bloed, en julle vingers met ongeregtigheid; julle lippe het leuens gespreek, julle tong het verdorwenheid gemompel.

None calleth for justice, nor [any] pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

Niemand roep in geregtigheid nie, en niemand pleit in waarheid nie: hulle vertrou op ydelheid, en spreek leuens; hulle ontvang onheil, en bring ongeregtigheid voort.

They hatch cockatrice’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.

Hulle broei basilisk-eiers uit, en weef die spinnekop se web: hy wat van hulle eiers eet, sterwe, en dit wat vertrap word, breek uit in ‚'n adder.

Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works [are] works of iniquity, and the act of violence [is] in their hands.

Hulle webbe sal nie tot klere word nie, en hulle sal hulleself nie met hulle werke bedek nie: hulle werke is werke van ongeregtigheid, en die daad van geweld is in hulle hande.

Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts [are] thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction [are] in their paths.

Hulle voete hardloop tot die kwaad, en hulle haastig om onskuldige bloed te vergiet: hulle gedagtes is gedagtes van ongeregtigheid; verwoesting en vernietiging is in hulle paaie.

The way of peace they know not; and [there is] no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.

Die weg van vrede ken hulle nie; en daar is geen oordeel in hulle gange nie: hulle het vir hulleself krom paaie gemaak: elkeen wat daarop gaan, sal nie vrede ken nie.

Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, [but] we walk in darkness.

Daarom is oordeel ver van ons, en geregtigheid bereik ons nie: ons wag vir lig, maar kyk duisternis; vir helderheid, maar ons wandel in dimheid.

We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if [we had] no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; [we are] in desolate places as dead [men].

Ons tas soos die blindes na die muur, en ons tas soos hulle wat geen oë het nie: ons struikel in die middag soos in die nag; ons is in eensaam plekke soos dooies.

We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but [there is] none; for salvation, [but] it is far off from us.

Ons brul almal soos bere, en treur bitterlik soos duiwe: ons wag vir oordeel, maar daar is geen nie; vir heil, maar dit is ver van ons.

For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions [are] with us; and [as for] our iniquities, we know them;

Want ons oortredings is vermeerder voor U, en ons sondes getuig teen ons: want ons oortredings is by ons; en wat ons ongeregtighede betref, ons ken hulle;

In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

In oortreding en leuens teen die HERE, en in die afwyk van ons God, in die spreek van verdrukking en opstand, in die ontvang en mompel van uit die hart valse woorde.

And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

En oordeel is teruggekeer agteruit, en geregtigheid staan ver af: want waarheid is in die straat geval, en opregtheid kan nie ingaan nie.

Yea, truth faileth; and he [that] departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw [it], and it displeased him that [there was] no judgment.

Ja, waarheid ontbreek; en hy wat van die kwaad afwyk, maak homself ’n prooi: en die HERE het dit gesien, en dit was sleg in sy oë dat daar geen oordeel was nie.

And he saw that [there was] no man, and wondered that [there was] no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

En Hy het gesien dat daar geen man was nie, en het Hom verwonder dat daar geen voorspraak was nie: daarom het sy arm vir Hom heil gebring; en sy geregtigheid, dit het Hom ondersteun.

For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance [for] clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.

Want Hy het geregtigheid as ‚'n borsharnas aangetrek, en ‚'n helm van heil op sy hoof; en Hy het die klere van wraak as klere aangetrek, en was met ywer as ‚'n mantel bedek.

According to [their] deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

Volgens hulle dade, dienooreenkomstig sal Hy vergoed, grimmigheid aan sy teëstanders, vergelding aan sy vyande; aan die eilande sal Hy vergelding doen.

So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

So sal hulle die Naam van die HERE van die weste af vrees, en sy heerlikheid van die opgang van die son. Wanneer die vyand soos ‚'n vloed kom, sal die Gees van die HERE ‚'n standaard teen hom oprig.

And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.

En die Verlosser sal tot Sion kom, en tot dié wat van oortreding in Jakob afwyk, sê die HERE.

As for me, this [is] my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that [is] upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

Wat My betref, dit is my verbond met hulle, sê die HERE; My Gees wat op jou is, en my woorde wat ek in jou mond gelê het, sal nie van jou mond wyk nie, en ook nie van die mond van jou saad, en ook nie van die mond van jou saad se saad, sê die HERE, van nou af en vir ewig.
