Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, [in whom] my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
Kyk my dienaar, wat ek ondersteun; my uitverkorene, in wie my siel behae het; ek het my Gees op Hom gelê: Hy sal oordeel aan die heidene voortbring.

He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
Hy sal nie skreeu, en nie verhef, en nie sy stem in die straat laat hoor nie.
3
A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
‚'n Geknakte riet sal Hy nie verbreek nie, en die rokende vlas sal Hy nie uitblus nie: Hy sal oordeel voortbring tot waarheid.
4
He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
Hy sal nie flou word of ontmoedig word nie, totdat Hy oordeel op die aarde gevestig het: en die eilande sal op sy wet wag.

Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
So sê God die HERE, Hy wat die hemele geskep het, en hulle uitgespan het; Hy wat die aarde en dit wat daaruit voortkom, uitgesprei het; Hy wat asem aan die volk daarop gee, en gees aan dié wat daarin wandel:

I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
Ek die HERE het jou in geregtigheid geroep, en sal jou hand vashou, en sal jou bewaar, en jou gee vir ‚'n verbond van die volk, vir ‚'n lig van die heidene;

To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, [and] them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
Om die blinde oë oop te maak, om die gevangenes uit die gevangenis uit te bring, en dié wat in duisternis sit uit die gevangenishuis.

I [am] the LORD: that [is] my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
Ek is die HERE: dit is my Naam: en my heerlikheid sal ek nie aan ‚'n ander gee nie, en ook nie my lof aan gesnede beelde nie.

Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
Kyk, die vorige dinge is gekom, en nuwe dinge verklaar ek: voordat hulle uitspruit, laat ek julle daarvan hoor.
10
Sing unto the LORD a new song, [and] his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
Sing tot die HERE ‚'n nuwe lied, en sy lof van die einde van die aarde af, julle wat afgaan na die see, en al wat daarin is; die eilande, en die inwoners daarvan.

Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up [their voice], the villages [that] Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
Laat die wildernis en die stede daarvan hulle stem verhef, die dorpe wat Kedar bewoon: laat die inwoners van die rots sing, laat hulle van die top van die berge af skreeu.

Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
Laat hulle heerlikheid aan die HERE gee, en sy lof in die eilande verklaar.
13
The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
Die HERE sal uittrek soos ’n magtige man, Hy sal die ywer van ’n man van oorlog opwek: Hy sal skreeu, ja, roep; Hy sal teen sy vyande seëvier.

I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, [and] refrained myself: [now] will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
Ek het lank stilgehou; ek was stil, en myself teruggehou: nou sal ek skreeu soos ‚'n vrou wat baar; ek sal tegelykertyd vernietig en verslind.

I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
Ek sal berge en heuwels verwoes, en al hulle kruie verdor; en ek sal die riviere eilande maak, en die poele uitdroog.
16
And I will bring the blind by a way [that] they knew not; I will lead them in paths [that] they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
En ek sal die blindes lei by ‚'n weg wat hulle nie geken het nie; ek sal hulle in paaie lei wat hulle nie geken het nie: ek sal duisternis voor hulle lig maak, en krom dinge reguit. Hierdie dinge sal ek aan hulle doen, en hulle nie verlaat nie.

They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye [are] our gods.
Hulle sal teruggetrek word, hulle sal grootliks beskaamd word, wat op gesnede beelde vertrou, wat sê tot die gesmelte beelde, Julle is ons gode.

Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.
Hoor, julle dowes; en kyk, julle blindes, dat julle mag sien.

Who [is] blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger [that] I sent? who [is] blind as [he that is] perfect, and blind as the LORD’S servant?
Wie is blind, maar my dienaar? of doof, soos my boodskapper wat ek gestuur het? wie is blind soos hy wat volkome is, en blind soos die HERE se dienaar?

Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.
Aanskouende baie dinge, maar jy merk nie; openende die ore, maar hy hoor nie.
21
The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make [it] honourable.
Die HERE is welbehae om sy geregtigheid se ontwil; Hy sal die wet groot en heerlik maak.
22
But this [is] a people robbed and spoiled; [they are] all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.
Maar hierdie is ’n beroofde en geplunderde volk; hulle is almal in holtes verstrik, en in gevangenishuise verberg: hulle is tot ’n prooi, en niemand red nie; tot ’n plundering, en niemand sê, Gee terug nie.

Who among you will give ear to this? [who] will hearken and hear for the time to come?
Wie onder julle sal dit gee gehoor, wie sal aandagtig luister, en hoor vir die tyd wat kom?

Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.
Wie het Jakob tot ’n plundering oorgegee, en Israel aan die rowers? was dit nie die HERE nie, Hy teen wie ons gesondig het? want hulle wou nie in sy weë wandel nie, en hulle was nie gehoorsaam aan sy wet nie.

Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid [it] not to heart.
Daarom het Hy op hom die grimmigheid van sy toorn, en die sterkte van die geveg uitgestort: en dit het hom aan alle kante aan die brand gesteek, tog het hy dit nie gemerk nie; en dit het hom verbrand, tog het hy dit nie ter harte geneem nie.
