And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
En Israel het vertrek met alles wat hy gehad het, en by Berseba gekom, en offers geoffer aan die God van sy vader Isak.

And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here [am] I.
En God het tot Israel in die gesigte van die nag gespreek, en gesê, Jakob, Jakob. En hy het gesê, Hier is ek.
3
And he said, I [am] God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
En Hy het gesê, Ek is God, die God van jou vader: vrees nie om af te gaan na Egipte nie; want ek sal jou daar ’n groot nasie maak:
4
I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up [again]: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
Ek sal met jou afgaan na Egipte; en ek sal jou sekerlik ook weer oplaai: en Josef sal sy hand op jou oë sit.

And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
En Jakob het van Berseba opgestaan: en die seuns van Israel het Jakob hulle vader, en hulle kinders, en hulle vroue, in die waens vervoer wat Farao gestuur het om hom te vervoer.

And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:
En hulle het hulle vee geneem, en hulle goed wat hulle in die land Kanaän verkry het, en in Egipte gekom, Jakob, en al sy saad saam met hom:

His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
Sy seuns, en sy seuns se seuns saam met hom, sy dogters, en sy seuns se dogters, en al sy saad het hy saam met hom in Egipte gebring.

And these [are] the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
En dit is die name van die kinders van Israel, wat in Egipte gekom het, Jakob en sy seuns: Ruben, Jakob se eersgeborene.

And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
En die seuns van Ruben; Hanog, en Pallu, en Hesron, en Karmi.
10
And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.
En die seuns van Simeon; Jemuel, en Jamin, en Ohad, en Jagin, en Sohar, en Saul die seun van ’n Kanaänitiese vrou.

And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
En die seuns van Levi; Gerson, Kehat, en Merari.

And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.
En die seuns van Juda; Er, en Onan, en Sela, en Peres, en Serag: maar Er en Onan het in die land Kanaän gesterwe. En die seuns van Peres was Hesron en Hamul.

And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.
En die seuns van Issaskar; Tola, en Puwa, en Job, en Simron.
14
And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.
En die seuns van Sébulon; Sered, en Elon, en Jagleël.
15
These [be] the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padanaram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters [were] thirty and three.
Dit is die seuns van Lea, wat sy vir Jakob in Paddan-Aram gebaar het, met sy dogter Dina: al die siele van sy seuns en sy dogters was drie en dertig.

And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
En die seuns van Gad; Sifjon, en Haggi, Suni, en Esbon, Eri, en Arodi, en Areli.
17
And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel.
En die seuns van Aser; Jimna, en Jiswa, en Jiswi, en Beria, en Sera hulle suster: en die seuns van Beria; Heber, en Malkiël.

These [are] the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, [even] sixteen souls.
Dit is die seuns van Silpa, wat Laban aan sy dogter Lea gegee het, en hierdie het sy vir Jakob gebaar, sestien siele.
19
The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.
Die seuns van Ragel, Jakob se vrou; Josef, en Benjamin.
20
And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.
En vir Josef is in die land Egipte Manasse en Efraim gebore, wat Asnath, die dogter van Potífera priester van On, vir hom gebaar het.
21
And the sons of Benjamin [were] Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
En die seuns van Benjamin was Bela, en Beker, en Asbel, Gera, en Naäman, Egi, en Ros, Muppim, en Huppim, en Ard.
22
These [are] the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls [were] fourteen.
Dit is die seuns van Ragel, wat vir Jakob gebore is: al die siele was veertien.
23
And the sons of Dan; Hushim.
En die seuns van Dan; Husim.
24
And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
En die seuns van Naftali; Jagtseël, en Guni, en Jeser, en Sillem.
25
These [are] the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls [were] seven.
Dit is die seuns van Bilha, wat Laban aan sy dogter Ragel gegee het, en hierdie het sy vir Jakob gebaar: al die siele was sewe.

All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls [were] threescore and six;
Al die siele wat met Jakob in Egipte gekom het, wat uit sy lendene voortgekom het, behalwe die vroue van Jakob se seuns, al die siele was sestig en ses;
27
And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, [were] two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, [were] threescore and ten.
En die seuns van Josef, wat vir hom in Egipte gebore is, was twee siele: al die siele van die huis van Jakob, wat in Egipte gekom het, was sewentig.

And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
En hy het Juda voor hom uit gestuur na Josef, om voor hom aan te wys na Gosen; en hulle het in die land Gosen gekom.
29
And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
En Josef het sy wa gespan, en opgetrek om Israel sy vader tegemoet te gaan, na Gosen, en hy het aan hom verskyn; en hy het om sy nek geval, en lank op sy nek gehuil.

And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou [art] yet alive.
En Israel het tot Josef gesê, Laat my nou sterwe, aangesien ek jou aangesig gesien het, dat jy nog lewe.
31
And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which [were] in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
En Josef het tot sy broers, en tot sy vader se huis gesê, Ek sal opgaan, en dit aan Farao vertel, en tot hom sê, My broers, en my vader se huis, wat in die land Kanaän was, het na my gekom;
32
And the men [are] shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
En die manne is skaapwagters, want hulle is manne van vee; en hulle het hulle kleinvee, en hulle beeste, en alles wat hulle het, saamgebring.
33
And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What [is] your occupation?
En dit sal gebeur, wanneer Farao julle roep, en sê, Wat is julle besigheid?
34
That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, [and] also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd [is] an abomination unto the Egyptians.
Dat julle moet sê, Jou dienaars se besigheid was met vee van ons jeug af tot nou toe, beide ons, en ons vaders: dat julle in die land Gosen mag woon; want elke skaapwagter is ’n gruwel vir die Egiptenaars.
