Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,
Seun van die mens, sit jou aangesig teen die berge van Israel, en profeteer teen hulle,

And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, [even] I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
En sê, Julle berge van Israel, hoor die woord van die Here GOD; So sê die Here GOD tot die berge, en tot die heuwels, tot die riviere, en tot die valleie; Kyk, ek, selfs ek, sal ’n swaard oor julle bring, en julle hoë plekke sal vernietig word.

And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain [men] before your idols.
En julle altare sal verwoes word, en julle beelde sal verbreek word: en ek sal julle dooie liggame voor julle afgode neerwerp.

And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.
En ek sal die dooie liggame van die kinders van Israel voor hulle afgode lê; en ek sal julle bene rondom julle altare verstrooi.

In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
In al julle wonings sal die stede verwoes word, en die hoë plekke verwoes word: dat julle altare verwoes en verwoes mag word, en julle afgode verbreek en ophou, en julle beelde afgekap, en julle werke uitgewis mag word.

And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.
En die dooie sal in die midde van julle val, en julle sal weet dat ek die HERE is.

Yet will I leave a remnant, that ye may have [some] that shall escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.
Tog sal ek ’n oorblyfsel oorlaat, dat julle sommige mag hê wat van die swaard ontvlug onder die nasies, wanneer julle deur die lande verstrooi word.

And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
En dié van julle wat ontvlug, sal My onder die nasies onthou waarheen hulle weggevoer is, omdat ek gebreek is met hulle hoeragtige hart, wat van My afgewyk het, en met hulle oë, wat agter hulle afgode aangegaan het: en hulle sal hulleself verafsku vanweë die euwele wat hulle in al hulle gruwels gepleeg het.

And they shall know that I [am] the LORD, [and that] I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.
En hulle sal weet dat ek die HERE is, en dat ek nie tevergeefs gesê het dat ek hierdie kwaad aan hulle sou doen nie.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.
So sê die Here GOD; Slaan met jou hand, en stamp met jou voet, en sê, Ag vir al die boos gruwels van die huis van Israel! want hulle sal deur die swaard, deur die hongersnood, en deur die pes val.

He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.
Hy wat ver is, sal deur die pes sterwe; en hy wat naby is, sal deur die swaard val; en hy wat oorbly en beleër is, sal deur die hongersnood sterwe: so sal ek my grimmigheid op hulle voleindig.

Then shall ye know that I [am] the LORD, when their slain [men] shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.
Dan sal julle weet dat ek die HERE is, wanneer hulle dooie liggame onder hulle afgode onder elke groen boom, en onder elke digte eikeboom, sal wees, die plek waar hulle ‚'n aangename reuk aan al hulle afgode geoffer het.

So will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yea, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.
So sal ek my hand oor hulle uitsteek, en die land verwoes maak, ja, meer verwoes as die wildernis na Diblat toe, in al hulle wonings: en hulle sal weet dat ek die HERE is.
