Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and pourtray upon it the city, [even] Jerusalem:

And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set [battering] rams against it round about.
En beleër dit, en bou ’n fort daarteen, en gooi ’n wal daarteen op; stel ook die kamp daarteen, en sit stormramme daarteen rondom.

Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it [for] a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This [shall be] a sign to the house of Israel.
Bowendien neem jy vir jou ’n yster pan, en sit dit as ’n muur van yster tussen jou en die stad: en sit jou aangesig daarteen, en dit sal beleër word, en jy sal dit beleër. Dit sal ’n teken wees vir die huis van Israel.

Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: [according] to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity.
Lê jy ook op jou linkerkant, en lê die ongeregtigheid van die huis van Israel daarop: volgens die getal van die dae dat jy daarop lê, sal jy hulle ongeregtigheid dra.

For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
Want ek het jou die jare van hulle ongeregtigheid opgelê, volgens die getal van die dae, drie honderd en negentig dae: so sal jy die ongeregtigheid van die huis van Israel dra.

And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.
En wanneer jy dit voleindig het, lê weer op jou regterkant, en jy sal die ongeregtigheid van die huis van Juda veertig dae dra: ek het jou elke dag vir ’n jaar opgelê.

Therefore thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and thine arm [shall be] uncovered, and thou shalt prophesy against it.
Daarom moet jy jou aangesig na die beleëring van Jérusalem sit, en jou arm ontbloot, en teen dit profeteer.

And, behold, I will lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.
En kyk, ek sal bande op jou sit, en jy sal jou nie van die een kant na die ander omdraai nie, totdat jy die dae van jou beleëring voleindig het.

Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, [according] to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.
Neem jy ook vir jou koring, en gars, en bone, en lensies, en gierst, en fikkel, en sit hulle in een vat, en maak vir jou brood daarvan, volgens die getal van die dae dat jy op jou sy sal lê, drie honderd en negentig dae sal jy daarvan eet.

And thy meat which thou shalt eat [shall be] by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.
En jou voedsel wat jy sal eet, sal wees volgens gewig, twintig sikkels ‚'n dag: van tyd tot tyd sal jy dit eet.

Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink.
Jy sal ook water volgens maat drink, die sesde deel van ‚'n hin: van tyd tot tyd sal jy drink.
12
And thou shalt eat it [as] barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.
En jy sal dit as garskoek eet, en jy sal dit bak met mis van die mens, in hulle oë.
13
And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them.
En die HERE het gesê, Selfs so sal die kinders van Israel hulle brood onrein eet onder die heidene, waarheen ek hulle sal drywe.

Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.
Toe het ek gesê, Ag Here GOD! kyk, my siel is nie verontreinig nie: want van my jeug af tot nou toe het ek nie van dit geëet wat vanself dood is, of wat verskeur is nie; en daar het geen verfoeilike vlees in my mond gekom nie.

Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow’s dung for man’s dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith.
Toe het Hy tot my gesê, Kyk, ek het jou beesmis gegee in plaas van mensemis, en jy sal jou brood daarmee berei.
16
Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:
Bowendien het Hy tot my gesê, Seun van die mens, kyk, ek sal die staf van brood in Jérusalem verbreek: en hulle sal brood volgens gewig, en met sorg eet; en hulle sal water volgens maat, en met verbaasdheid drink:

That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.
Dat hulle brood en water mag ontbreek, en verbaas wees die een met die ander, en wegkwyn vir hulle ongeregtigheid.
