Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.
Bowendien het Hy tot my gesê, Seun van die mens, eet wat jy vind; eet hierdie rol, en gaan, spreek tot die huis van Israel.
2
So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
So het ek my mond oopgemaak, en Hy het my daardie rol laat eet.
3
And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat [it]; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
En Hy het tot my gesê, Seun van die mens, laat jou maag dit eet, en vul jou ingewande met hierdie rol wat ek jou gee. Toe het ek dit geëet; en dit was in my mond soos heuning vir soetheid.

And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.
En Hy het tot my gesê, Seun van die mens, gaan, kom by die huis van Israel, en spreek met my woorde tot hulle.
5
For thou [art] not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, [but] to the house of Israel;
Want jy is nie gestuur tot ‚'n volk van ‚'n vreemde spraak en van ‚'n moeilike taal nie, maar tot die huis van Israel;
6
Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.
Nie tot baie volk van ‚'n vreemde spraak en van ‚'n moeilike taal, wie se woorde jy nie kan verstaan nie. Sekerlik, as ek jou tot hulle gestuur het, sou hulle na jou geluister het.

But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel [are] impudent and hardhearted.
Maar die huis van Israel wil nie na jou luister nie; want hulle wil nie na My luister nie: want die hele huis van Israel is hardnekkig en hard van hart.
8
Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
Kyk, ek het jou aangesig hard gemaak teen hulle aangesigte, en jou voorhoof hard teen hulle voorhoofde.
9
As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they [be] a rebellious house.
Soos ‚'n diamant, harder as keisteen, het ek jou voorhoof gemaak: vrees hulle nie, en wees ook nie ontsteld vir hulle aangesigte nie, alhoewel hulle ‚'n opstandige huis is.

Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.
Bowendien het Hy tot my gesê, Seun van die mens, al my woorde wat ek tot jou sal spreek, ontvang in jou hart, en hoor met jou ore.
11
And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.
En gaan, kom by die weggevoerde, by die kinders van jou volk, en spreek tot hulle, en sê tot hulle, So sê die Here GOD; of hulle wil hoor, of of hulle wil nalaat.

Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, [saying], Blessed [be] the glory of the LORD from his place.
Toe het die gees my opgeneem, en ek het agter my ’n stem van ’n groot geraas gehoor, sê, Geseënd is die heerlikheid van die HERE uit sy plek.

[I heard] also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.
Ek het ook die geraas van die vlerke van die lewende wesens gehoor wat die een teen die ander geraas het, en die geraas van die wiele teenoor hulle, en ‚'n geraas van ‚'n groot geraas.

So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.
So het die gees my opgeneem, en my weggeneem, en ek het gegaan in bitterheid, in die hitte van my gees; maar die hand van die HERE was sterk op my.
15
Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.
Toe het ek by die weggevoerde by Tel-Abib gekom, wat by die rivier Kebar woon, en ek het gesit waar hulle gesit het, en het daar verbaas onder hulle sewe dae gebly.

And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
En dit het gebeur aan die einde van sewe dae, dat die woord van die HERE tot my gekom het, sê,
17
Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
Seun van die mens, ek het jou ‚'n wagman vir die huis van Israel gemaak: daarom hoor die woord uit my mond, en gee hulle waarskuwing van My.
18
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Wanneer ek tot die goddelose sê, Jy sal sekerlik sterwe; en jy gee hom nie waarskuwing nie, en spreek nie om die goddelose van sy goddelose weg te waarsku, om hom lewendig te red nie; dieselfde goddelose man sal in sy ongeregtigheid sterwe; maar sy bloed sal ek van jou hand eis.

Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Tog as jy die goddelose waarsku, en hy nie van sy goddeloosheid, en van sy goddelose weg afkeer nie, sal hy in sy ongeregtigheid sterwe; maar jy het jou siel gered.
20
Again, When a righteous [man] doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Weer, wanneer ‚'n regverdige man van sy geregtigheid afwyk, en ongeregtigheid doen, en ek ‚'n struikelblok voor hom sit, sal hy sterwe: omdat jy hom nie gewaarsku het nie, sal hy in sy sonde sterwe, en sy geregtigheid wat hy gedoen het, sal nie onthou word nie; maar sy bloed sal ek van jou hand eis.

Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous [man], that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
Nogtans as jy die regverdige waarsku, dat die regverdige nie sondig nie, en hy nie sondig nie, sal hy sekerlik lewe, omdat hy gewaarsku is; ook het jy jou siel gered.

And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.
En die hand van die HERE was daar op my; en Hy het tot my gesê, Staan op, gaan uit in die vlakte, en ek sal daar met jou spreek.

Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.
Toe het ek opgestaan, en uitgegaan in die vlakte: en kyk, die heerlikheid van die HERE het daar gestaan, soos die heerlikheid wat ek by die rivier Kebar gesien het: en ek het op my aangesig geval.

Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.
Toe het die gees in my ingegaan, en my op my voete gestel, en met my gespreek, en tot my gesê, Gaan, sluit jouself op binne jou huis.
25
But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:
Maar jy, o seun van die mens, kyk, hulle sal bande op jou sit, en jou daarmee bind, en jy sal nie onder hulle uitgaan nie:
26
And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they [are] a rebellious house.
En ek sal jou tong aan die dak van jou mond laat kleef, dat jy stom sal wees, en nie ‚'n bestraffer vir hulle sal wees nie: want hulle is ‚'n opstandige huis.

But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they [are] a rebellious house.
Maar wanneer ek met jou spreek, sal ek jou mond oopmaak, en jy sal tot hulle sê, So sê die Here GOD; Hy wat hoor, laat hom hoor; en hy wat nalaat, laat hom nalaat: want hulle is ’n opstandige huis.
