The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,

Die woord van die HERE het ook tot my gekom, sê,

Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they [are] a rebellious house.

Seun van die mens, jy woon in die midde van ’n opstandige huis, wat oë het om te sien, en sien nie; hulle het ore om te hoor, en hoor nie: want hulle is ’n opstandige huis.

Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they [be] a rebellious house.

Daarom, jy seun van die mens, berei jou goed vir verhuising, en verhuis by dag in hulle oë; en jy sal van jou plek na ’n ander plek verhuis in hulle oë: dit mag wees hulle sal oorweeg, alhoewel hulle ’n opstandige huis is.

Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, as they that go forth into captivity.

Dan moet jy jou goed by dag in hulle oë uitbring, soos goed vir verhuising: en jy moet in die aand uitgaan in hulle oë, soos dié wat uitgaan in gevangenisskap.

Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.

Grawe jy deur die muur in hulle oë, en dra dit daardeur uit.

In their sight shalt thou bear [it] upon [thy] shoulders, [and] carry [it] forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee [for] a sign unto the house of Israel.

In hulle oë moet jy dit op jou skouers dra, en dit in die skemer uitdra: jy moet jou aangesig bedek, dat jy die grond nie sien nie: want ek het jou as ’n teken vir die huis van Israel gestel.

And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought [it] forth in the twilight, [and] I bare [it] upon [my] shoulder in their sight.

En ek het so gedoen soos ek beveel is: ek het my goed by dag uitgedra, soos goed vir verhuising, en in die aand het ek met my hand deur die muur gegraveer; ek het dit in die skemer uitgedra, en dit op my skouer in hulle oë gedra.

And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,

En in die môre het die woord van die HERE tot my gekom, sê,

9

Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?

Seun van die mens, het nie die huis van Israel, die opstandige huis, tot jou gesê, Wat doen jy nie?

10

Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; This burden [concerneth] the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel that [are] among them.

Sê tot hulle, So sê die Here GOD; Hierdie las betref die vors in Jérusalem, en die hele huis van Israel wat onder hulle is.

11

Say, I [am] your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove [and] go into captivity.

Sê, Ek is julle teken: soos ek gedoen het, so sal dit met hulle gedoen word: hulle sal verhuis en in gevangenisskap gaan.

12

And the prince that [is] among them shall bear upon [his] shoulder in the twilight, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, that he see not the ground with [his] eyes.

En die vors wat onder hulle is, sal op sy skouer in die skemer die goed dra, en uitgaan: hulle sal deur die muur grawe om daardeur uit te dra: hy sal sy aangesig bedek, dat hy die grond nie met sy oë sien nie.

My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon [to] the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.

My net sal ek ook oor hom uitsprei, en hy sal in my strik gevang word: en ek sal hom na Babel na die land van die Chaldeërs bring; tog sal hy dit nie sien nie, alhoewel hy daar sal sterwe.

14

And I will scatter toward every wind all that [are] about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.

En almal wat rondom hom is om hom te help, en al sy bende, sal ek in alle winde verstrooi; en ek sal ‚'n swaard agter hulle uittrek.

15

And they shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.

En hulle sal weet dat ek die HERE is, wanneer ek hulle onder die nasies verstrooi, en hulle in die lande verstrooi.

16

But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.

Maar ek sal ‚'n paar manne van hulle van die swaard, van die hongersnood, en van die pes laat oorbly, dat hulle al hulle gruwels onder die heidene waarheen hulle kom, mag verklaar; en hulle sal weet dat ek die HERE is.

Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Bowendien het die woord van die HERE tot my gekom, sê,

18

Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with carefulness;

Seun van die mens, eet jou brood met bewing, en drink jou water met bewing en met sorgvuldigheid;

19

And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [and] of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.

En sê tot die volk van die land, So sê die Here GOD van die inwoners van Jérusalem, en van die land van Israel; Hulle sal hulle brood met sorg eet, en hulle water met verbaasdheid drink, dat haar land verwoes mag word van al wat daarin is, vanweë die geweld van almal wat daarin woon.

20

And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.

En die stede wat bewoon is, sal verwoes word, en die land sal verwoes word; en julle sal weet dat ek die HERE is.

21

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

En die woord van die HERE het tot my gekom, sê,

22

Son of man, what [is] that proverb [that] ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?

Seun van die mens, wat is daardie spreekwoord wat julle in die land van Israel het, sê, Die dae is verleng, en elke visioen misluk?

23

Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.

Sê tot hulle daarom, So sê die Here GOD; Ek sal hierdie spreekwoord laat ophou, en hulle sal dit nie meer as ’n spreekwoord in Israel gebruik nie; maar sê tot hulle, Die dae is naby, en die uitwerking van elke visioen.

24

For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.

Want daar sal nie meer enige ydele visioen wees nie, en ook geen vleiende waarsêery in die midde van die huis van Israel nie.

25

For I [am] the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.

Want ek is die HERE: ek sal spreek, en die woord wat ek sal spreek, sal gebeur; dit sal nie meer uitgestel word nie: want in julle dae, o opstandige huis, sal ek die woord spreek, en dit uitvoer, sê die Here GOD.

26

Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Weer het die woord van die HERE tot my gekom, sê,

27

Son of man, behold, [they of] the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth [is] for many days [to come], and he prophesieth of the times [that are] far off.

Seun van die mens, kyk, hulle van die huis van Israel sê, Die visioen wat hy sien is vir baie dae tot, en hy profeteer van die tye wat ver is.

28

Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

Daarom sê tot hulle, So sê die Here GOD; Daar sal geen van my woorde meer uitgestel word nie, maar die woord wat ek gespreek het, sal gebeur, sê die Here GOD.
