Masters, give unto [your] servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.
Here, gee aan julle diensknegte wat reg en billik is; wetende dat julle ook ’n Meester in die hemel het.
2
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Volhard in die gebed, en waak daarin met dankseggging;
3
Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
Bidende tegelykertyd ook vir ons, dat God vir ons ’n deur van die woord mag oopmaak, om die geheimenis van Christus te spreek, om welke ek ook in bande is:

That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
Dat ek dit mag openbaar, soos ek behoort te spreek.
5
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
Wandeling in wysheid teenoor hulle wat buite is, die tyd uitkoop.
6
Let your speech [be] alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Laat julle woord altyd aangenaam wees, met sout gekruis, dat julle mag weet hoe julle elke mens moet antwoord.
7
All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, [who is] a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord:
Al my sake sal Tígikus, die geliefde broer en getroue dienaar en mededienaar in die Here, julle bekend maak:

Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;
Wat ek juis tot julle gestuur het vir dieselfde doel, dat hy julle sake mag weet, en julle harte mag vertroos;
9
With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is [one] of you. They shall make known unto you all things which [are done] here.
Saam met Onésimus, die geliefde en getroue broer, wat een van julle is. Hulle sal julle alles bekend maak wat hier is.

Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus, sister’s son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;)
Aristárgus my medegevangene groet julle, en Markus, die neef van Barnabas, (aangaande wie julle bevele ontvang het: as hy by julle kom, ontvang hom;)

And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only [are my] fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.
En Jesus, wat Justus genoem word, wat uit die besnydenis is. Hierdie alleen is my medewerkers tot die koninkryk van God, wat vir my ’n troos was.

Epaphras, who is [one] of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
Epafras, wat een van julle is, ’n dienaar van Christus, groet julle, altyd strydende vir julle in gebede, dat julle mag staan volkome en volledig in al die wil van God.

For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them [that are] in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.
Want ek getuig van hom, dat hy ’n groot ywer het vir julle, en vir hulle in Laodicéa, en vir hulle in Hiërapolis.

Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.
Lukas, die geliefde geneesheer, en Demas, groet julle.

Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.
Groet die broers wat in Laodicéa is, en Nímfas, en die gemeente wat in sy huis is.

And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the [epistle] from Laodicea.
En wanneer hierdie brief by julle gelees is, sorg dat dit ook in die gemeente van die Laodicense gelees word; en dat julle ook dié uit Laodicéa lees.

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
En sê tot Argíppus, Gee ag op die bediening wat jy in die Here ontvang het, dat jy dit vervul.

The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace [be] with you. Amen.
Die groete van my, Paulus, met my eie hand. Onthou my bande. Genade sy met julle. Amen.
