Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
Paulus, en Silvánus, en Timótheüs, aan die gemeente van die Thessaloníkers in God onse Vader en die Here Jesus Christus:

Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Genade aan julle, en vrede, van God onse Vader en die Here Jesus Christus.

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
Ons is verplig om God altyd vir julle te dank, broers, soos dit betaam, omdat julle geloof uitermate toeneem, en die liefde van elkeen van julle almal teenoor mekaar oorvloedig is;

So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
Sodát ons self in julle roem in die gemeentes van God om julle verdraagsaamheid en geloof in al julle vervolginge en verdrukkinge wat julle verdra:

[Which is] a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
Wat ‚'n duidelike bewys is van die regverdige oordeel van God, dat julle waardig geag mag word die koninkryk van God, om welke julle ook ly:

Seeing [it is] a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
Aangesien dit ‚'n regverdige ding by God is om verdrukking te vergeld aan hulle wat julle verdruk;
7
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
En aan julle wat verdruk word, rus saam met ons, wanneer die Here Jesus geopenbaar sal word uit die hemel met sy magtige engele,

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
In vlammende vuur wraak nemende op hulle wat God nie ken nie, en op hulle wat die evangelie van onse Here Jesus Christus nie gehoorsaam nie:

Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
Wat met ewige verderwing gestraf sal word van die aangesig van die Here, en van die heerlikheid van sy mag;
10
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
Wanneer Hy sal kom om verheerlik te word in sy heiliges, en om bewonder te word in almal wat glo (omdat ons getuienis onder julle geglo is) in daardie dag.

Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power:
Daarom bid ons ook altyd vir julle, dat onse God julle waardig mag ag van hierdie roeping, en alle welbehaaglikheid van goedheid, en die werk van die geloof met krag mag vervul;

That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Dat die Naam van onse Here Jesus Christus in julle verheerlik mag word, en julle in Hom, volgens die genade van onse God en die Here Jesus Christus.
