And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?
En Dawid het gesê, Is daar nog iemand wat oorgebly het van die huis van Saul, dat ek barmhartigheid aan hom mag bewys om Jonatan se ontwil?

And [there was] of the house of Saul a servant whose name [was] Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, [Art] thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant [is he].
En daar was van die huis van Saul ’n dienaar wie se naam was Siba. En toe hulle hom by Dawid geroep het, het die koning tot hom gesê, Is jy Siba? En hy het gesê, Jou dienaar is dit.

And the king said, [Is] there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, [which is] lame on [his] feet.
En die koning het gesê, Is daar nie nog iemand van die huis van Saul nie, dat ek die barmhartigheid van God aan hom mag bewys? En Siba het tot die koning gesê, Jonatan het nog ’n seun, wat lam is aan sy voete.

And the king said unto him, Where [is] he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he [is] in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
En die koning het tot hom gesê, Waar is hy? En Siba het tot die koning gesê, Kyk, hy is in die huis van Magir, die seun van Ammiël, in Lo-Debar.

Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
Toe het koning Dawid gestuur, en hom uit die huis van Magir, die seun van Ammiël, uit Lo-Debar gehaal.

Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
Nou toe Mefibóset, die seun van Jonatan, die seun van Saul, by Dawid gekom het, het hy op sy aangesig geval, en homself neergebuig. En Dawid het gesê, Mefibóset. En hy het geantwoord, Hier is jou dienaar!

And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
En Dawid het tot hom gesê, Wees nie bevrees nie: want ek sal sekerlik barmhartigheid aan jou bewys om Jonatan jou vader se ontwil, en sal jou al die land van Saul jou vader teruggee; en jy moet brood aan my tafel eet voortdurend.

And he bowed himself, and said, What [is] thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I [am]?
En hy het homself neergebuig, en gesê, Wat is jou dienaar, dat jy omgesien het na so ’n dooie hond soos ek is?

Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
Toe het die koning na Siba, Saul se dienaar, geroep, en tot hom gesê, Alles wat aan Saul en aan sy hele huis behoort het, het ek aan jou meester se seun gegee.

Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in [the fruits], that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Jy dus, en jou seuns, en jou dienaars, moet die land vir hom bewerk, en jy moet die vrugte inbring, dat jou meester se seun brood mag hê om te eet: maar Mefibóset jou meester se seun moet voortdurend brood aan my tafel eet. Nou het Siba vyftien seuns en twintig dienaars gehad.

Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, [said the king], he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons.
Toe het Siba tot die koning gesê, Volgens alles wat my heer die koning sy dienaar beveel het, so sal jou dienaar doen. Wat Mefibóset betref, het die koning gesê, hy moet aan my tafel eet, soos een van die koning se seuns.

And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name [was] Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba [were] servants unto Mephibosheth.
En Mefibóset het ’n jong seun gehad, wie se naam was Miga. En almal wat in die huis van Siba gewoon het, was dienaars van Mefibóset.

So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table; and was lame on both his feet.
So het Mefibóset dan in Jérusalem gewoon: want hy het voortdurend aan die koning se tafel geëet; en hy was lam aan altwee sy voete.
