And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,
En dit was so, toe Salomo klaar was met die bou van die huis van die HERE, en die koning se huis, en al Salomo se begeerte wat hy behaag het om te doen,

That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.
Dat die HERE die tweede maal aan Salomo verskyn het, soos Hy aan hom in Gibeon verskyn het.

And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
En die HERE het tot hom gesê, Ek het jou gebed en jou smeking gehoor, wat jy voor My gedoen het: ek het hierdie huis geheilig, wat jy gebou het, om my Naam daar te sit vir ewig; en my oë en my hart sal daar wees altyd.

And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, [and] wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:
En wat jou betref, as jy voor My sal wandel, soos Dawid jou vader gewandel het, in opregtheid van hart, en in opregtheid, om te doen volgens alles wat ek jou beveel het, en my insettinge en my oordele sal bewaar:

Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.
Dan sal ek die troon van jou koninkryk oor Israel vir ewig bevestig, soos ek tot Dawid jou vader gespreek het, en gesê het, Daar sal nie vir jou ’n man ontbreek op die troon van Israel nie.

[But] if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments [and] my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
Maar as julle en julle kinders enigsins van My afwend, en my gebooie en my insettinge nie bewaar nie wat ek voor julle gestel het, maar gaan en ander gode dien, en julle voor hulle neerbuig:

Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:
Dan sal ek Israel uitsny uit die land wat ek hulle gegee het; en hierdie huis, wat ek vir my Naam geheilig het, sal ek uit my aangesig wegwerp; en Israel sal ‚'n spreekwoord en ‚'n spot wees onder al die volke.

And at this house, [which] is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house?
En by hierdie huis, wat hoog is, sal elkeen wat daarby verbygaan, verbaas wees, en sal fluit; en hulle sal sê, Waarom het die HERE so aan hierdie land, en aan hierdie huis gedoen?

And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil.
En hulle sal antwoord, Omdat hulle die HERE hulle God verlaat het, wat hulle vaders uit die land Egipte uitgebring het, en ander gode aangehang het, en hulle voor hulle neergebuig, en hulle gedien het: daarom het die HERE al hierdie onheil oor hulle gebring.

And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the king’s house,
En dit was so aan die end van twintig jaar, toe Salomo die twee huise gebou het, die huis van die HERE, en die koning se huis,
11
([Now] Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
(Nou het Hiram die koning van Tirus Salomo van sederbome en dennebome, en van goud, volgens al sy begeerte, voorsien,) dat toe koning Salomo aan Hiram twintig stede in die land Galilea gegee het.

And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.
En Hiram het van Tirus uitgegaan om die stede te besien wat Salomo hom gegee het; en hulle het hom nie behaag nie.
13
And he said, What cities [are] these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.
En hy het gesê, Wat is dit vir stede wat jy my gegee het, my broer? En hy het hulle die land Kabul genoem tot vandag toe.

And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.
En Hiram het die koning ‚'n honderd en twintig talente goud gestuur.
15
And this [is] the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
En dit is die rede vir die dienspligtiges wat koning Salomo opgelig het; om die huis van die HERE te bou, en sy eie huis, en Millo, en die muur van Jérusalem, en Hasor, en Megiddo, en Geser.

[For] Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it [for] a present unto his daughter, Solomon’s wife.
Want Farao koning van Egipte het opgetrek, en Geser geneem, en dit met vuur verbrand, en die Kanaäniete wat in die stad gewoon het, doodgemaak, en dit as ’n geskenk aan sy dogter, Salomo se vrou, gegee.

And Solomon built Gezer, and Bethhoron the nether,
En Salomo het Geser gebou, en die onderste Bet-Horon,
18
And Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,
En Baälat, en Tadmor in die wildernis, in die land,
19
And all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
En al die voorraadstede wat Salomo gehad het, en stede vir sy strydwaens, en stede vir sy ruiters, en dit wat Salomo begeer het om te bou in Jérusalem, en in die Líbanon, en in al die land van sy heerskappy.
20
[And] all the people [that were] left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which [were] not of the children of Israel,
En al die volk wat oorgeblewe was van die Amoriete, Hetiete, Feresiete, Hewiete, en Jebusiete, wat nie van die kinders van Israel was nie,
21
Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bondservice unto this day.
Hulle kinders wat in die land oorgeblewe was, wat die kinders van Israel nie in staat was om heeltemal te vernietig nie, op dié het Salomo dienspligtiges opgelig tot vandag toe.
22
But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they [were] men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.
Maar van die kinders van Israel het Salomo geen diensknegte gemaak nie: maar hulle was manne van oorlog, en sy dienaars, en sy vorste, en sy owerstes, en owerstes van sy strydwaens, en sy ruiters.

These [were] the chief of the officers that [were] over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.
Dit was die owerstes van die amptenare wat oor Salomo se werk was, vyfhonderd en vyftig, wat oor die volk geheers het wat die werk gedoen het.
24
But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which [Solomon] had built for her: then did he build Millo.
Maar Farao se dogter het opgetrek uit die stad van Dawid na haar huis wat hy vir haar gebou het: toe het hy Millo gebou.
25
And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that [was] before the LORD. So he finished the house.
En drie maal in ‚'n jaar het Salomo brandoffers en dankoffers op die altaar geoffer wat hy vir die HERE gebou het, en hy het reukwerk op die altaar gebrand wat voor die HERE was: so het hy die huis voleindig.

And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which [is] beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.
En koning Salomo het ‚'n vloot skepe gemaak in Esjon-Geber, wat by Elot is, aan die oewer van die Skelfsee, in die land Edom.
27
And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.
En Hiram het in die vloot sy dienaars gestuur, skeepslui wat kennis van die see gehad het, saam met die dienaars van Salomo.
28
And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought [it] to king Solomon.
En hulle het by Ofir gekom, en daarvandaan goud gehaal, vierhonderd en twintig talente, en dit na koning Salomo gebring.
