Principles of AFR DVK
These rules stand for Version 1.0.
- The KJV is the primary source. The English King James Version (1769 Cambridge line) is the authority for this study translation.
- No copying of existing Afrikaans Bibles. AFR 1933/53, 1983, 2020 and others are not a source or a template.
- No change of meaning. The Afrikaans must say what the KJV says.
- Biblical terms are kept. Holy Names, offices, and fixed Bible words are not given up for smoother modern speech.
- One vocabulary across all 66 books.
- Chapter-by-chapter review before a section is treated as settled.
- A study Bible, not a replacement of the KJV. The English KJV remains the standard.
